EFFECTS OF SOSIHOTANGHAPSARYEUNG-SAN ON IMMUNE RESPONSE AND URINATION IN HGCL©ü INDUCED RENAL FAILURE ANIMALS

Abstract
This experimental study was performed in order to investi ;ate the effects of Sosihotanghapsaryeung-san (Sample A.B) on immune response and urination in HgC12- nduced renal failure animals.
The observation wes mad through the measurement of del iyedtype hypersensitivity (DTH) and rosettformin;, cells (RFC) for cell-mediated immune response, hemaggiutinin (HA) titers and hemolysin (HL) titers for humor, 1 immune response, and of the concentration of urea nitrogen, creatinine and electrolytes in the serum for urination.
The i esults were summarized as follows.
1) D¢¥-.¢¥H in sample groups was increased than that of control group, especially showing statistical significance iii the sample A group.
2) RE C in sample groups was increased than that ofcontrol group, representing statistical significance in both sample groups.
3) HA titers in sample groups was increased than that of control group, especially showing statistical significance in the sample A group.
4) In HL titers a increasing tendecy was observed in the sample groups, but there was no significance in all.
5) A decreasing tendecny in sample groups were made in blood urea nitrogen, creatinine and potassium ion level, showing significance in blood urea nitrogen level only. Sodium and chloride ion level in sample groups was increased than that of control group, showing statistical significance.
These findings suggest that Sosihotanghapsaryeung-san enhances cell-mediated and humoral immune response and brings urination effect.
